Here's the scenario. I'm Driving up to Denver to shop, Sam in the back seat, the sun is shining, I'm not hungry, I don't have to go to the bathroom, so basically all is good in the world.
Fast forward to 2 minutes later.....I am sobbing while listening to the radio, and singing my heart out to, wait for it,...."Jesus, Take the Wheel". Eww, I cringed even writing the title of that song. Everything about that song tells me that I should hate it.
1.It's country
2. It's sentimental
3. re-read the title of the song for reason #3, I can't bring myself to type it again.
Yet, I cannot listen to it without crying. It's like and alternate personality comes out in me when it comes on the radio. An embarrassing personality. I am embarrassed. So, of course the obvious next step is to publish my embarrassing behavior on the internet.
Anyways, I'm curious (and hoping) to see if you guys have any songs, that on paper- you should totally hate. But you actually love the song, (with all of your heart).

I first started to read this and thought you were going to tell me that you were stuck on I-25 today in that massive pileup and then I realized that you were on the other side of that pileup!
Bethany- no,, nothing that serious, just wanted to talk about my tacky song choices. :)
oh and p.s. sorry if anyone loves this song for real. I mean, I love it for real, but I am not proud of it.
Oh my word, I have too many to list. "I Finally Found Someone" by Barbara Streisand and Brian Adams. Also "Laughter in the Rain" by Neil Sedaka.
How about an entire artist. I love Michael Martin Murphy and I know you probably have no idea who he is, but what can I say I grew up on him and I love his Best of Album. Scott totally makes fun of me but sometimes I love to put in an old cassette, yes cassette, that I have of his and sing along as I clean my house to "Carolina in the Pines"
So this is weird, I love Michael Martin Murphy too. Who knew? I love to belt out his song Family Tree-which is totally cheesy. It is about building a house with all different kinds of wood and relating it to having a family. But yes, I love it.
I will never confess to actually loving this song, but every time the d*** song about Christmas shoes comes on the radio comes on, I start to cry. Most of the time I just change the station.
I would not have tagged you as a country girl! However, having said that I know more than my fair share! There is no shame in it!
Haha...I feel the same way about that song! The other one that I hate liking is "Butterfly Kisses"!!
"Hero" by Enrique Inglesias. If you ask me about it I'm totally going to deny it though.
Um, that exact song is on my Ipod and it makes my sob (I am not prego), but I also am not a fan for country one iota. Yes, it totally makes me weep!!!
