The weather was so great on Saturday that we decided to take a picnic to a park by the river.. We went for a little walk and G starting finding things that were exclamation worthy.
"awesome!" "I can't believe my eyes!" are a few examples. She started filling up a plastic baggy with things that she liked. Her favorites were the shells, she even made up a song about them it went a little something like this...
"Sea shells, I love you.
you are not a toy.
I will not treat you like a toy.
I will feed you breakfast every morning...."
(pause)
g: "mom, what do seashells eat?" (good question)
me: "I dunno, plants, maybe plankton" (boring answer)
g: "no, they eat rocks."(of course)
After the song, she started referring to the stuff in the Ziploc as her "discovery bag". She often says things like this that I think would make a TV-parent do that upside down smiley proud look to their perfect spouse. Lots of times I think that she should be the child on a sitcom and not just boring old me's kid. I will try to be more dynamic from now on. On second thought, maybe I'll just start with trying for 'mildly interesting'. I don't want to set myself up for failure with going straight for 'dynamic'. Sometimes I think it's better to aim low.

boring?!?!? have you ever played balderdash with yourself? you are the dynamo dynamic queen :-)
yeah, i am pretty awesome at balderdash......
i'm mostly just boring in a kid way. I have a hard time thinking like a kid.:)
oh, well that's easy. to think like a kid think like normal only more colorful, messier, louder and with 10 times the normal giggles and in a funny voice in your head. works everytime for me :-) course i have to be sure the voice stays in my head . . .oh yeah, and forget the meaning of the words responsibility, financial, and politics ;-)
